Norway Tri - July 19, 2008
The first annual Norway Triathlon was held on a steamy Saturday in July starting and finishing at Pennesseewassee Park on Norway Lake. There was a.6 mile swim on the lake a 9 mile bike leg and a 5k run.  Registration was limited to 100 participants though and extra 30 people showed up in the morning!  Based on all accounts the event was a great success and the organizers, sponsors and volunteers who made it happen should be congratulated.  Proceeds from the race benefit the Western Foothills Land Trust's Roberts' Farm Preserve who's trails will be included in next year's event.

I'll also post these photos on Flickr tagged with "norwaytri" and "norwaylake", join the NorwayLake Flickr group! I showed up late so if you have photos of the swim or bike ride and you would like them posted here, send them to norwaylakemaine (at) gmail.com and include your name and a caption.
