Norway Lake is in the beautiful western Maine hills and is a perfect place to visit or spend your vaction.

Swim the length of the lake and support the Lakes Association!
Sunday August 20 8am, Pennesseewassee Park, Norway
3.5 mile lake swim to honor Enid Dullea, Norway HS class of 1930, Enid swam the length of the lake regularly training for the 1936 Olympic trials.

Swimmers must be accompanied by a kayak or canoe, wetsuits and fins are allowed. Swimmers must wear some visible float. Two person relay allowed. $20 suggested donation benefits the Lakes Association of Norway.

Not a timed event, swim safely for fun. Weather permitting. Meet in the Pennesseewassee Park parking area at 8. We will convoy to a private start site. After the swim, drivers will be transported back to their cars. To sign up call 617-833-0646.

Norway has online boat registration! For those of you like me who always forget to do this at Town Hall - just a few mouse clicks & your credit card and you can renew and print out your boat registration at home (stickers are mailed).

Wondering what all those green algae blobs are in the lake this year?

The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-1 tornado with wind speeds between 86 and 110 miles per hour cut a swath through Norway and South Paris continuing on through Buckfield, Sumner and Hartford late on the afternoon of Friday, August 21st, 2009.  For more info and pictures click here.
